'Return to Work' Programmes

Long term absence of 20 days or more accounts for 43% of all working time lost and costs UK business over £5.8 billion a year.  (CBI 2007)

Mental ill health - including stress, anxiety and depression – was highlighted as the most significant cause of

long-term absence among staff.

Validium’s Return to Work Programme is an advanced service for organisations to manage and support employees who are on long-term absence, or have taken repeated short-term absences.  Whatever the cause, we recognise that there are often psychological, emotional and physical barriers preventing a return to work which will have financial implications for the organisation in addition to the substantial impact on the employee.  Validium has a proven track record of resolving a whole range of issues (e.g. anxiety, stress, depression) and therefore enabling people to maintain their organisational effectiveness.  Left without support, sickness absence can drift from weeks to months, making a return to work less likely.  After six weeks absence an employee’s likelyhood of returning to work falls away rapidly.  For example someone with six months’ absence has only a 50% chance of return.

The Return to Work programme is facilitated by professional Health Care Consultants and consists of two stand alone processes, Return to Work Counselling and the Return to Work Coaching programme which can be integrated.
