Hospice recruits personnel support firm

The Buckinghmshire firm’s Employee Assistance Programme offers help with personal matters such as health, family, alcohol or emotional issues, and also work matters such as stress, work/life balance and workload. “One of the areas where we think we may be called to give support will be in helping new employees to work within a hospice environment,” said Validium’s Dr Wolfgang Seidl. “Doctors and nurses are trained to make people better and they can find it very hard to adapt to the fact that their patients can’t be cured and that their energies have to be spent on trying to make the remainder of that patient’s life as positive and pain-free as possible".
